The Cooperativa San Cristóbal de Cañada has a store-museum called «La casa del aceite», which is dedicated to the dissemination and dissemination of olive oil production in the municipality. Auto Sacramental de los Reyes Magos de Cañada is a staging performed in the manner of medieval theater, both in fixed and mobile locations in different parts of the municipality, representing the adoration of the Magi to the child Jesus and the slaughter of the innocents taken to Cape by Herod. Its origin is between 1785 and 1797. Since 1964, the Sacramental Auto of the Magi is staged in two days, on January 6 and 7.
January 6th
The day begins at 9.30 am, when the Band performs a parade to take the audience to the place of «El Pinaret», point where the three wise men are after following from different places to a great star. After talking they go to Herod’s Palace, achieving this the commitment of the Magi to inform him of the place of the birth of Jesus, totally unrelated to his true intentions. The last scene of the day represents the meeting of the Magi with Jesus in the Plaza Mayor. After making their offerings and being warned by an angel of the cruel intentions of Herod, Their Majesties return to their countries without warning. Therefore, Herod sends his troops in search of the family.
January 7th
On this day the flight to Egypt is represented in the vicinity of the Sanctuary of the Virgen del Carmen, where they meet some bandits who, under the influence of their captain Dimas, accompany the family despite the first intentions
to kill the baby. Then a funny scene takes place in which the shepherds Jusepe and Rebecca are interrogated by soldiers of Herod. When not finding the Messiah, Herod orders the Slaughter of the Innocents in the same Palace, murdering his own son, which provokes the reproaches of Rachel, the repentance of Herod and the end of the representation. Acte Sacramental dels Reis Mags de Cañada és una escenificació realitzada a manera del teatre medieval, tant en escenaris fixos com en mòbils en diferents punts del municipi, que representa l’adoració dels Reis Mags al nen Jesús i la matança dels innocents portada a terme per Herodes. El seu origen està comprès entre 1785 i 1797. Des de 1964, l’Acte Sacramental dels Reis Mags s’escenifica en dos dies, el 6 i el 7 de gener.
Gener 6
La jornada comença a les 9.30 hores, quan la Banda de Música realitza una cercavila per portar els assistents al paratge de «El Pinaret», punt en el qual es troben els tres Reis Mags després de seguir des de diferents llocs a una gran estrella. Després de conversar es dirigeixen al Palau d’Herodes, aconseguint aquest el compromís dels Reis Mags d’informar-lo del lloc del naixement de Jesús, totalment aliens a les seves veritables intencions. L’última escena del dia representa la trobada dels Reis Mags amb Jesús a la Plaça Major. Després de realitzar les seves ofrenes i ser avisats per un àngel de les cruels intencions d’Herodes, Ses Majestats tornen als seus països sense avisarsle. Per això, Herodes envia les seves tropes a la recerca de la família.
Gener 7
En aquest dia es representa la fugida a Egipte en els voltants del Santuari de la Mare de Déu del Carme, on es troben uns bandolers que, sota la influència del seu capità Dimas, acompanyen a la família malgrat les primeres intencions
d’assassinar el nadó. Tot seguit té lloc una graciosa escena en què els pastors Jusepe i Rebeca són interrogats per soldats d’Herodes. En no trobar el Messies, Herodes ordena la Matança dels Innocents al mateix Palau, assassinant al seu propi fill, el que provoca els retrets de Raquel, el penediment d’Herodes i la fi de la representació.
